Weird weather this morning. First it was bright and sunny, then out of nowhere a dark cloud rolled over and pelted Victoria and Saanich with pea-sized hail stones! Here's one that bounced off the rail and landed on my balcony...

For about 15-20 minutes it was coming down pretty hard, but notice it was still very bright out. I believe the phrase for that is "liquid sunshine", or in this case "sunny with ice pellets"...

We've had so much rain lately that the little patch of lawn below my balcony is flooded! It was POURING when I took this photo earlier this afternoon. Look close and you can see the streaking rain drops...

I'm sure glad I don't live on the ground floor!

Rainy day in Victoria...

This is a close up picture of my computer monitor showing the radar image from the Environment Canada website. It's a little hard to see, but Victoria is right about where the mouse pointer is. And this is what it looked like outside my balcony this afternoon...

Look close and you can see a few vertical streaks of falling raindrops.

It was a good afternoon to stay inside.

A thick blanket of fog rolled over parts of Victoria for a while today and the deep, hypnotic sound of the lighthouse fog horns could be heard echoing in the distance. I loved it.

I didn't have the camera with me today, so I'm bending the rules by posting this photo I took a couple of summers ago. This is the lighthouse at the end of the Ogden Point breakwater. The day I took the photo started out just as foggy as today was, and like today the fog lifted and we ended up with a very nice afternoon.

Well, looks like summer has finally arrived...

I literally just took this photo no more than 10 minutes before posting. I shouted: "Hey! There's my picture of the day!" as I grabbed the camera and dove into the living room from the den. Hey, the rest of Canada has been enjoying nice temperatures, so I should be allowed to celebrate a little when we finally get our turn.
